The application of the 3D laser scanner procedures as technical support for the construc- tion design is focus of this paper. The laser scanner technology has become of fundamental importance for the cultural heritage survey sector. Accuracy and precision of the 3D Laser Scanner survey could be a decisive support for the quality of the design process. The inte- grated survey, promoted and performed in the MUDI (Museo degli Innocenti), could be a best practices case. In May 2008, the “Istituto degli Innocenti” promoted a competition concerning the prelim- inary design of the new Museum.
