Purpose: Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a presumed autoimmune chronic inflammatory demyelinating disease of the Central Nervous System (CNS) of unknown etiology. Epidemiological studies suggest that MS pathogenesis could be related to an infection superimposed on a predisposing genetic background.
