Within the framework of a mutual collaboration with the Remo Brindisi Museum in Lido di Spina (Comacchio, FE), the Archaeometry laboratory of the University of Ferrara had the opportunity to analyze some paintings belonging to the Remo Brindisi collection by image diagnostics, useful and non-invasive techniques to document and study works of art. Raking light images highlight the morphological properties of a surface. Infrared (IR) reflectography can reveal the presence of an under-drawing. Ultraviolet (UV) induced fluorescence emphasizes the presence of varnish layers and of some fluorescent pigment.
