Breast cancer models of acquired tamoxifen resistance, oestrogen receptor (ER)+ /ER- de novo resistance and gene transfer studies cumulatively demonstrate the increased importance of growth factor receptor signalling, notably the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR)/HER2, in tamoxifen resistance.
