Several features of the implant surface, such as composition, topography, roughness, and energy, play a relevant role in implant integration with bone. Little is known about the structural and chemical surface properties that may influence biological responses. Expression profiling by DNA microarray is a molecular technology that allows the analysis of gene expression in a cell system.
