The Authors report their experience of surgical diseases of superior vena cava consisting of 12 cases. They discuss the diagnostic value of TC, venography end particulady mediastinoscopy. The last is able to define histological features of the neoplastic lesions leading to a superior vena cava syndrome. At the end, aftet a discussion on surgical approach in treatment of cases observed. the Authors underline the considerable value of the pathology considered even if a rare one
