Synthesis of pyrazole and pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidinone derivatives. Part II.

Six nitropyrazole phenylhydrazides (I), the corresponding NH2 compds. (II), and 6 pyrazolo[4,3-d]pyrimidinones (III) (X = Cl or Me) were screened for antiinflammatory and antipyretic activities in rats and for analgesic activity and toxicity in mice. Overall, only analgesic activity was found (with some compds. only), which decreased in the order I, II, III. The p-substituted compds. were the most active within any given group.
