The excavations conducted since 1995 by the University of Macerata in many contexts of the site of Urbs Salvia (Regio V, Picenum), especially in the Tempio-Criptoportico Complex, have provided new findings concerning the main phases of the colony’s life, from the late republican period to its final destruction and abandonment. Among the large quantity of cooking wares coming from these contexts, this paper focuses on the pan vessel. By comparing the specimens belonging to different layers we analyze the temporal evolution of the shape, the development of the characteristics of the fabrics, and also of the surfaces. The contribution of archaeometric analyses is taken into account and contributes in determining the area of manufacture
