The non-linear analysis of composite steel-concrete beams by the finite element method permits obtaining useful information on collapse modalities but may lead to unconvincing results if the numerical solution is not carefully performed. The authors illustrate some aspects related to the convergence of the method and some results concerning the collapse modalities for the case of a two-span composite beams under a uniform load
