In this paper, an improved version of the quadrature element method (QEM) is proposed. By means of a careful distribution of sampling points, the proposed method overcomes the drawback of the distance of the QEM without introducing further degrees of freedom at the ends of the element as in the di4erential quadrature element method (DQEM). The aim of the paper is to show the potentialities of this modied quadrature element method (MQEM) for several structural examples
