Series Power Electronic Converter (SPEC) is an effective device in compensating continuously the RMS voltage variations in a low voltage network, downstream the point of installation. The SPEC is designed to use only reactive power for the voltage compensation and permits to reduce cost of operation and maintenance, even though it can impose some operating limits. In literature, works on single phase SPEC related to operating principle, limitations and devices control for compensation of network voltage under load and renewable energy variations are presented.
