The volume is a collection of papers presenting different views on metaphor in communication. The overall volume aims at showing that the communicative dimension of metaphor cannot be reduced to its conceptual and/or linguistic dimension, by answering two main questions: does the communicative dimension of metaphor have specific features that make it not completely reducible to its linguistic and cognitive dimensions? How could these specific properties of communication change our comprehension of the linguistic and cognitive dimensions of metaphor?
