State Estimation (SE) is the basis for every control and management application on a power network. SE relies on accurate real measurements. In the near future, these measurements are expected to be more and more frequently provided by Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs). PMUs are very accurate measurement devices able to give synchronized phasor measurements. A degree of correlation exists in the data measured by means of PMUs, due to specifications of measurement devices.
