Film membrane, 0.6 to 1.0 m.m thick, of hydrochloride of methanol-esterified, denatured ovalbumin have been prepared and the portion showing zero asymmetric potential used for determining the membrane potential, thing saturated calomel electrodes. With KCl solutions having Cl- ion molarity ratio of 2.25 at the same pH on the two sides, the membrane potential has been found to be the same at different pHs from 3.6 to 7.5
