Perianal giant condyloma acuminatum of Buschke-Loewenstein: a carcinoma-like condyloma or a condyloma-like carcinoma?

BLT or giant condyloma acuminatum is an infrequent, large, exo-endophytic lesion that was originally observed in the penile foreskin by Buschke in 1896 and subsequently described also in the perianal region. Histologically, it is a form of luxuriant epithelial proliferation that is always preceded by an anogenital wart and must therefore be considered as a sexually transmitted disease triggered by HPV infection.
