Chemiluminescence (CL) and bioluminescence (BL)-based microfluidic chips are being increasingly proposed for clinical, agrofood and environmental analyses . Although offering high detectability and specificity, CL reactions generally involve the emission of low light levels, thus requiring highly sensitive detectors for their sensitive measurement.
