Bipolar Disorder Type I (BDI) and Bipolar Disorder Type II (BDII) are chronic and disabling conditions characterized by manic/hypomanic and depressive episodes. Cognitive disturbances seem to affect both the subtypes of BD, specifically in frontal executive functioning and verbal learning working memory.
