The conference aims at facilitating an interdisciplinary exchange on reform proposals for fiscal institutions in Europe. Ideally, this exchange can have an impact on the practical debate in the political sphere. This is particularly likely since the proposed participants in our Colloquium are not only academic researchers, but many of them also play important roles as policy consultants or as influential participants in the public discourse on policy. We hope to encourage them to take into account that matters can often be – for good reasons – seen from different perspectives than their own, because taking these different perspectives into account may eventually lead to better reform proposals with less unintended, adverse consequences on t...
