This essay tries to focus the critical position of Paul Celan towards the literary critics defining him - according to the pattern developed by Hugo Friedrich - as a «hermetic poet» - he refuses the definition of hermeticism and plies for a new interpretation of «darkness» which can express a mor authentic nearness to reality than the current idea of «realism»
