\(p\)H titration In studies on the interaction of aluminium, cobalt, nickel, and silver ions with transfusion gela­tin show the combination of these ions, both from the electrolyte and the sols with the ionised groups of the protein. The binding of aluminium takes place through the carboxyl groups, whereas imidazole sites are involved in reacting with the rest of the metal ions. The reaction of iron and its hydrous oxide sol with transfusion gelatin is found to be of physical nature
