Electromagnetic vibration energy harvesting is a relatively modern technology that has received relevant attention in the last decade from the research community and industry as a potential complement or alternative to the inconvenient employment of batteries for powering ultra-low-power devices, microelectromechanical systems, and wireless sensor networks.
