Due to its increased population, the Klojen District has become the center of government and economy in Malang City. Overpopulation has caused an increase in land conversion and a decrease in vegetation area, resulting in the Urban Heat Island effect or increased land surface temperature (LST) in urban areas. This study aimed to determine the effect of the normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) on LST in the Klojen District. The data were processed by interpreting Landsat 8 satellite imagery using NDVI and LST analyses in 2018 and 2020, and the two variables were tested for linear regression.
