The Role of the Scientific Research at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in Achieving the Sustainable Development from the Point of View of Faculty Members

The present study aimed at assessing the role of the scientific research at the Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) in achieving the sustainable development. To achieve this goal, a questionnaire was developed and its validity and reliability were confirmed. The study population consisted of all faculty members at the Jordan University of Science and Technology during the first semester of the academic year (2018/2019), and their number was (753) faculty members. (460) questionnaires were distributed to a selected sample by the stratified random sampling method, that is, about (61%) of the original study population, and (370) completed questionnaires were retrieved. The sample of the study, after excluding the reliability sample, reached (340) faculty members. To answer the study questions, arithmetic means, standard deviations, (T-test), (ONE WAY ANOVA), and (Scheffe) method for Post Hoc Comparisons were used. The results of the study showed that the degree of the assessment of the role of scientific research at the Jordan University of Science and Technology in achieving the sustainable development from the point of view of its faculty members was great, It also showed that there were statistically significant differences attributed to the gender variable, which came in favor of (males), as well as due to the academic rank variable, which came in favor of (associate professor and assistant professor)
