The conception of compensation in the Lebanese legal system is based on equalizing between the compensation value and the amount of damage, and mainly this conception is independent of the notion of mistake and its aggravation. This Article 134 of the Lebanese Code of Obligations and Contracts stated expressly the latter idea and took into consideration the moral damages not only the materials ones. This conception of compensation adopted in Civil law legal systems differs radically and clearly from the idea of compensation in the Anglo-Saxon laws. Punitive compensation is related to the act committed and its consequences. So, the punitive compensation is not a compensation for damage but a punishment for misconduct
