[EN] For the safe operation of a sailplane up to the certified maximum speed, the freedom from flutter must be ensured, i.e. no undamped vibrations can occur. The flutter analysis procedure involves obtaining the modal data by computational or experimental means and coupling it with an aerodynamic model to form an aeroelastic model. The state of the art for modelling the unsteady aerodynamic forces is the use of potential-theoretic unsteady vortex lattice or doublet lattice methods. However, viscous effects, such as the forming boundary layer, cannot be modelled with these methods.
