Hidradenitis Suppurativa-An intractable Dermo- Surgical Disease

Background: To study the surgical managementoutcome of Hidradenitis suppurativaMethods: In this descriptive study, patients presentingwith Hidradenitis suppurativa were analyzed withreference to presentation and surgical managementoutcome.Results: Out of 31 patients 3 (09.67%) patients weremale and 28 (90.32%) were female. Mean duration of onsetof disease and presentation was 15 months. Axilla was thecommonest site involved(74.19%) followed byinframammary fold (19.35%). Nine (29.03%) patientspresented in the emergency in the form of single ormultiple abscess requiring incision & drainage. Excisionand primary skin grafting was the most frequent surgicalprocedure performed in 54.83% with acceptable outcome.Conclusion: Hidradenitis suppurativa needsindividualized patient based management strategy withclose collaboration of surgeon and dermatologis
