The energy meter is created with the purpose to do measurement on the electricity consumption of every residential unit in which allow the service provider to charge the user accordingly per monthly usage basis. However, the current energy meter is lack of functionality in wireless communication, detailed data storage and real-time monitoring which remained unchanged for the past few decades.
