The purpose of this report is to present the progress and milestones achieved in the course of executing the project on power management and power factor correction of a Single-Phase Induction Motor (SPIM). The main discussion is concerning the work done on the simulation done using SIMULINK and project test setup using the xPC TargetBox for the power management of the SPIM. Using the MATLAB SIMULINK, the simulation of the controlled circuits of PWM Inverter, PWM Signal Generator, Full-Bridge Controlled Rectifier as well as connecting them with a Split Phase SPIM is also discussed. Power factor correction simulation is also discussed at the end of the report. Speed control for SPIM has been used widely around the world, since induc...
