Fouling of heat exchanger is concerned by industry especially in oil and gas industry. Slugs and rust in the heat exchanger will limit the flow of fluid in the pipeline and reduce the diffusion capability. Hence, affect the heat exchanger efficiency. Cleaning process will halt the refinery from going on and it will result in major cost penalties. Therefore, the best timing to perform the cleaning and maintenance process must be determined to avoid unnecessary cleaning by measuring the fluid velocity and the heat transfer coefficient.
