Ceria is a technologically important rare earth material widely used in catalytic oxidation processes due to its unique redox properties. Hydrothermal treatment method had been used to prepare ceria nanoparticles with the average size of 6-30 nm and surface area in the range of 46-62 m2/g in the presence of ionic liquid based on acetate anion, trifluoroacetate anion, dicyanamide anion as organic linker, cerium nitrate hexahydrate as precursor and ammonia.
