Ammonia and urea are among the most widely produced chemicals in the world and the study of the reaction kinetics is of great interest to the industry. While much study has been performed on the each product independently, limited focus is placed on the overall kinetic study of an integrated ammonia-urea synthesis process. Therefore, the development of a mathematical model using computer software to simulate the performance of an integrated ammonia-urea converter is the main focus of the study. The mathematical model simulated contains mass balance and energy balance equations in addition to studying the effect of varying temperature on the conversion and reaction rate.
