Kinematic and power-flow analysis of epicyclic gear drives are basic tasks during the design of speed reducers. In this paper new methodologies and software are developed for the complete analysis of kinematic and power flow for any kind of epicyclic gear drive. Results are obtained in closed form (symbolic) by means of an algebraic manipulation programming language
