The project was about modeling and simulation of Series Parallel Hybrid Electrical Vehicle using the MATLAB/Simulink as the based software. Based on the vehicle's real specification and right components sizing, a SPHEV Simulink model was developed and simulated to observe and study the operations of SPHEV under various driving conditions. The model developed was a forward looking model utilizing the driver model controller to request for power demand. The controller would execute the power demand and choose which mode to be used. Since the SPHEV was a combination of series and parallel modes, a good control strategy was required to ensure the vehicle was operating at the right mode depends on the driving situation.
