Friction welding process has been extensively used in the manufacturing industry whereby it's used in the aerospace industry to join two different materials together to create a good joint while retaining the parent material properties after welding. The main objectives that was hoped to be achieved in this research was whether the two pieces of metal can be welded together on the conventional lathes machine and if it could be done what was the rotational speed value (RPM). Due to the high cost of purchasing a friction welding machine, it was decided to attempt to create the weld joint using conventional lathes machine.
