Universal Testing machine (Amsler UTM) in University Teknologi PETRONAS is only capable of performing testing of materials at room temperature. By considering the engineering materials in the new era and the increasing demand for alternative testing for materials, a project was found suitable and a topic entitled “Design of High-Temperature Testing Attachments for Universal Testing Machine” was selected. This project would cover design analysis and investigation of the most suitable geometry and material for the furnace, the heat transfer analysis using modelling software package and the heat transfer calculation for the proposed design of the furnace.
