English Language Education Students' Intrinsic Motivation in learning speaking in pandemic COVID-19

The pandemic situation has changed English learning into an online environment. With the new learning conditions, students' motivation may be affected especially intrinsic motivation when learning speaking English in online classes. Therefore, research on students' motivation was carried out in research in this study to explore the intrinsic motivation of students in learning speaking online, and how they keep themselves motivated. This study involved 5 students from batch 2018 majoring in English at UMM. Interviews were conducted throughout this research to answer research problems. Based on the results of this study, students have one to two types of intrinsic motivation that help them in speaking lessons. This study reveals that students who have two types of intrinsic motivation are most impacted by changes in online learning
