POLITIK LUAR NEGERI INDONESIA DALAM MENANGANI KONFLIK SENGKETA ZEE DAN HAK KEDAULATAN DI PERAIRAN NATUNA PADA ERA KEPEMIMPINAN JOKOWI

The South China Sea conflict is a regional security issue that has not yet reached a point of completion. This conflict is a challenge for security stability in the region, including for Indonesia as a non-claimant state. In this conflict, Indonesia took an accommodative attitude because Indonesia was aware of its relative power. According to Lovell's argument, an accommodative attitude is a strategy that can be used to avoid open conflict. In addition, Indonesia has shown an accommodative position by being a facilitator, dialogue, military capacity building, and arbitration tribunal. Managing conflict is used by Indonesia as part of its strategy because during the Jokowi administration, Indonesia cooperated with China in terms of investment and infrastructure in national development priorities. Indonesia in this issue does not want to appear defeated even though it feels its power is lower. However, Indonesia still maintains the country's pride which shows that it remains sovereign. The author discusses how Indonesia's foreign policy strategy in dealing with EEZ disputes and sovereign rights in Natuna waters under Jokowi's leadership.
