Plant breeding has made significant progress over the last twenty years with the contribution of genomics and predictive methods, such as genomic selection. Other types of information are available to better model the relationship between genotype and phenotype. The objective of this thesis was to evaluate a new selection method, named phenomic selection, which integrates near infrared spectroscopy in predictive models, to improve breeding programs for bread wheat. After having clearly defined the method, we evaluated on data from breeding programs, different factors that can influence the predictive ability of the method.
