The Preference of Job Factors for Generation Z Students of Private University in Bandung

However, new generation (i.e. Generation Z) began to enter the workforce, and many others were still studying at universities and schools. Generation Z is considered by many to be the digital savvy generation. By understanding the specific characteristics of Generation Z, companies can recraft their employer brand to meet their expectations while still being true to the company's identity and attracting top talent to be engage. A descriptive quantitative study was conducted at several private universities in Bandung, Indonesia. 664 survey respondents answered a questionnaire with a google form. The finding in this study confirms that after graduating from college, Generation Z wanted to find a job and for the next five years they have dreams of becoming entrepreneurs. In looking for a job, Generation Z crave a supportive leader, role and responsibilities, and training and development be the main factor that must be in organization. Unlike previous generation, they focus more on relationships with superiors, company policies and programs that focus on shaping employees or their workforce. For the research, this study result is adding empirical evidence of Generation Z preferences in the workplace. Practically, this study will give insight to management that Generation Z is different from the previous generation which means they need different treatments and it also contributes to university whether the strategies are in accordance with current trends to providing the best talent to the company.
