The age structure and sex ratio of the populations of African Buffalo, Topi and Uganda Kob living in the plains south of Lake Amin, within the Virunga - National Park, Zaïre, were studied in 1978-79. The results are compared with those reported twenty years ago by Bourlière and Verschuren (1960) working in the same area, and with those obtained in other East African parks, mostly in the Akagera National Park in Rwanda (Monfort, 1972 ; Spinage, 1972). Life tables and survival curves derived from the skulls found in the park, are given for both sexes of African Buffalo and Topi, and for male Uganda Kobs.
