Energy resources and building demands in cold region and polar areas

Numerous countries demonstrate their strong interests in cold region and polar areas and thus it has never been more important to perform the research on energy resources and building demands in such areas. The topic of this special issue in Polar Science is the energy resources, building demands and the interactions, aiming to overview the recent scientific research, new technology and future perspectives. The current topic is very different and intense inter-and multi-disciplinary, giving an opportunity to draw more attention from the academic and engineering community to enhance or start the research work and to contribute to the further development of buildings and relevant technologies. The papers to be published in this special issue cover a wide variety of scientific and technical topics, showing that these papers will make them interesting to the general readers who focus on energy resources and buildings in the cold region and polar areas
