This article is an attempt to discuss models of digital competence formation among future teachers. Presently, pre-service teachers are a generation that makes intensive use of Internet resources. However, basic ICT skills are not sufficient for effective implementation of new media in their future professional work (didactic and educational areas). This text is a discussion of two models of shaping professional digital competences in the course of academic education.
