Micro-cogeneration is a technology through which power and thermal power for domestic heating and domestic hot water, are produced simultaneously, in a decentralized manner. The produced power is inferior to 50kWel. There are multiple advantages in using biomass as fuel: renewable energy is used, carbon neutrality, resource availability and low price. A micro-cogeneration biomass-based Stirling engine unit developed by the ÖkoFEN company has been tested to characterize its energetic performances. The incertitude linked to the mass flow measurement of the fuel was solved using the Gauss – Seidel method.
