She related how growing up in Madison and working in Indiana had affected her perspective on herself and the Madison community; she also reflected how academic staff and faculty gays and lesbians had organized differently. She then went on to discuss the development of the gay and lesbian community in Madison from the late 1970s to the late 2000s, chronicling the increasing acceptance with which the community is viewed in Madison and nationally. This interview was conducted for inclusion into the UW-Madison Oral History Program
