Acute toxicity tests with silver nitrate (AgN03) were conducted with two species of test organisms. The fathead minnow, Pimephales promelas Rafinesque, and a cladoceran, Daphnia magna, were used to determine the effects of silver toxicity in differing test waters. Two water sources were used in these studies - standard laboratory test water which was collected from the LSRI toxicity test laboratory at the University of Wisconsin-Superior and St Louis River water collected from a location near the Village of Oliver, WI, at the Wisconsin State Highway 105 bridge. Simultaneous 96-h fathead minnow and 48-h Daphnia magna, static exposures were conducted with these two test waters
