Economic evaluations are often used to assess the impacts of health programs or available technologies. However, less attention has been paid in the literature to how to obtain evidence to answer key questions such as the effectiveness, costs and long-term impact on health and quality of life, as well as the long-term impact on other healthcare uses. This thesis addresses three specific methodological challenges in economic evaluation and shows practical measures that may improve and enrich this field of research. The first challenge is one that commonly occurs in economic evaluation alongside clinical studies, namely how to deal with missing data.
