DAMPAK PANDEMI COVID 19 TERHADAP SEKTOR PARIWISATA DI KOTA BATU

This research is motivated by a disease phenomenon that has been rampant since the beginning of 2020 in various countries in the world including Indonesia, namely Coronavirus Disease or better known as Covid-19. In the tourism sector, the COVID-19 pandemic has an impact in the form of closing all tourism objects in Indonesia and not being allowed to carry out any tourist activities. This is in accordance with the government's policy which aims to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 because the activity is an activity that is very easy to gather the masses. With this policy, tourism objects in Batu City must also be closed. This certainly has a significant impact on all tourism actors. The purpose of this study is to describe the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism sector in Batu City. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The data used in this study are primary and secondary data. Then the technique for collecting data obtained by conducting observations, interviews, and documentation. Furthermore, the data is analyzed so that a conclusion can be drawn. From the results of this study it was found that: 1) The Covid-19 pandemic had an impact on decreasing tourist visits to Batu City. 2) The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the decline in the occupancy rate of star and non-star hotels in Batu. 3) The Covid-19 pandemic has an impact on the decline in workers in the tourism industry sector in Batu City
