PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER KERJA KERAS DAN PEDULI SOSIAL DALAM NOVEL ORANG-ORANG BIASA KARYA ANDREA HIRATA

Character education is a very important aspect for all circles of society, especially for children. Character formation is instilled early on through parents, the school environment and the community. Based on this, the formulation of the problem in the research is (1) how is the form of hard work and social care character education in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata. (2) How is the impact of character education in the novel Orang- Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata. The study was studied using a sociology of literature approach. The source of the data in this study is the novel Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata by paying attention to the units of the story, sentences, actions, thoughts and also the narrative in the novel. The data found is processed through several steps, namely determining the source of the data, collecting data, classifying the data, providing code numbers in the research instrument table. The data analysis technique was carried out in several stages, namely simplification of data, checking data, presenting data and drawing conclusions. Based on the formulation of the problem that has been compiled, the results of the study show that there are various forms of character education for hard work and social care. The forms of hard work education are trying hard, practicing earnestly, full of confidence, passionate, and never giving up. The form of social care character education is providing assistance to others, respecting others. In addition, the impact of character education is on the community, parents and school environment. The impact in the novel Orang-Orang Biasa by Andrea Hirata is the impact of the environment on the characters and the impact of the characters on the environment. On the impact of the environment on the character of the character, the findings that exist in the community, parents and the community affect the character of the character. Meanwhile, the impact of the character's character on the environment has a positive impact on the community and school environment. These characters make the characters more confident that the efforts of hard work and social care can realize what they dream of and motivate other characters to keep trying. Each environment also holds its own influence and role even though the environment does not fully shape patterns of thinking and behavior
