ANALISIS KEANEKARAGAMAN VEGETASI SEMAK DAN PERDU DI KAWASAN BUKIT WARUWANGI KABUPATEN SERANG BANTEN SEBAGAI SUMBER BELAJAR BIOLOGI

Waruwangi hill area has an area of ± 120 Ha which consists of protected forest which funcion as water absorption to support drinking water and irigation needs for local residents. Considering the importance of vegetation in the waruwangi hill area, it is important to save the diversity. This study aimed to analyze the values of density, frequency, dominance, important value index and Shannon-Wiener diversity which could be used as a Biology learning resource. This study was carried out in two stages, namely the preparation stage and the research stage. This study used the transect and plot method which the transect method consisted of 3 stations with 10 plots each measuring 5 x 5 m. The results showed that the environmental conditions in the Waruwangi hill area in 2022 were the common condition of tropical forests in Indonesia. The results of the analysis of the highest calculation of the important value index were Leuceana leucocephala (Lam.) de wit and Syzygium oleina plants. The results of the analysis of the calculation of the Shannon-Wiener diversity index (H') was 1.81 which is included in the moderate abundance category. The results of this study can be used as a biology learning resource for tenth-grade students of senior high schools, especially for biodiversity materials in the first semester
