PENGARUH CELEBRITY WORSHIP DAN KOMPARASI SOSIAL TERHADAP BODY IMAGE PADA REMAJA PUTRI

Adolescents have life development tasks, one of which is accepting their own physique. Body image has a multidimensional construct that provides an assessment of body shape as a form of self-evaluation. Physical assessment can be done by comparing body shape so that it causes dissatisfaction with body shape and then comparing himself with people or figures who are better than himself. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of celebrity worship and social comparison on the body image of adolescent girls. This study uses correlational quantitative methods with 313 NCTZen as research subjects. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling. The measuring tools used are the Multidimensional Body Self Relation Questionnaire-Appearance Scale, Celebrity Attitude Scale, and The Upward and Downward Appearance Comparison Scale. The method of analysis using multiple linear regression. The results of the research on the first hypothesis show that celebrity worship and social comparison simultaneously affect appearance orientation. Furthermore, the results of the second hypothesis show that celebrity worship and social comparisons jointly affect appearance evaluation
